This bench was inspired by the Lounge Collection created by US designer Florence Knoll (1917-present) to have a spare, angular profile that reflects the objective perfectionism of modern design. As a pioneer of the Knoll Planning Unit, Florence Knoll modestly called these pieces the "fill-in pieces that no one else wants to do." We absolutely love this design for it's clean lines and comfort. A perfect addition for the hallway, or entrance way.
Our Florence Knoll inspired bench reproduction is available in two sizes: a single and two-seat; and in two upholstery choices: top-grain, aniline-dyed Italian leather in 17 color choices or a selection of 19 boucle fabric colors. We use stainless steel 1"; square tubing for the legs and frame. The seat cushion is 3" thick and filled with High Resilient Multi-Density Foam. The cushion surfaces consist of individual aniline-dyed leather panels offered in 17 colors or 19 fabric colors. For sewing, we offer 2 different ways the panels may be hand-sewn together: 1) using a hand-rolled welting (piping) technique as found on the "signature" brand or 2) straight stitch seams. Buttons are optional. Our construction techniques provide a solid bench perfect for commercial and residential applications.
